We provide a traditional, non-dispensing general practice service daily (Monday to Friday, and Saturday mornings), with assessment of acute and chronic ailments, injuries and follow ups, minor surgical procedures, cryotherapy, immunizations, wellness and vitality checks.

A comprehensive diving & travel medical services are provided through the Umdoni Diving & Travel Clinic as part of the practice.

Immunization, diabetes, mental health, geriatric, and palliative care are special interest areas in the practice.

Nursing services include assessment and management of minor ailments, wound care, immunizations, blood taking, pap smears, baby wellness, and Vitality Assessments.

We do house calls when these are appropriate to the situation.

  • An after-hours G.P. emergency service is available weekdays, and shared with the other G.P.’s in the area over weekends.
  • We were involved in the initiation of the Scottburgh Private Hospital Project in conjunction with the Hibiscus Hospital Group. The practice is working with the Scottburgh Day Hospital, as it develops.
  • Our practice will refer to hospitals and specialists in Durban and the South Coast, or further afield if necessary. The practice has a good connection with a wide range of local specialists.
  • Lancet, Ampath, and Global Laboratories collect specimens from our practice several times a day, and forward results to our us.
  • The practice is currently in the process of shifting over to a paperless record system- so files, doctor’s notes, prescriptions, referrals and results will be computer based.
  • We are incrementally improving our accounting programme, telephone system and other electronic communication.
  • The practice charges medical aid rates, and in a network practice for several options, including Discovery Key Care.
  • We are registered to do Vitality Assessments for Discovery.
  • Payments can be made by EFT, credit card, Zapper and cash. In line with almost all businesses these days, we no longer accept cheques.

The rooms open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5:30 pm, Saturdays 8am to 11am. Doctors are available after hours on call.
